چکیده

Al Huwaysah 010 is an ungrouped achondrite meteorite, recently referred to as a brachinite-like meteorite. This showing fine-grained assemblage of low-Ca pyroxene and opaque phases, strongly reduced in comparison other brachinites. The occurrence some tiny plates graphite oldhamite this meteorite suggests that partial melt residue has experienced further reduction process. Olivine, the most abundant phase, compositionally homogeneous (Fo83.3) well clinopyroxene (En45.5Fs10.8Wo43.7) plagioclase (Ab69.5). Orthopyroxene (En85.4Fs13.9Wo0.7) also occurs but only fine intergrowth. Other accessory phases are Fe metal grains (Ni-free or Cr-bearing Fe-Ni alloy), troilite, chlorapatite, pentlandite (as inclusions chromite). sample shows two different closure temperatures: highest (≈900°C) determined via olivine–chromite intercrystalline geothermometer lowest temperature (≈520°C) pyroxene-based intracrystalline geothermometer. These temperatures may represent, respectively, associated with formation subsequent impact event excavating from parental body. visible near-infrared (VNIR) reflectance spectra exhibit low reflectance, consistent presence darkening components, weak absorptions indicative olivine pyroxene. Comparing spectral parameters potential parent bodies characterized by olivine–pyroxene mineralogy, we find it falls within field previously attributed SIII type asteroids. results lead us classify brachinite, whose VNIR features show strong affinities those

Have we detected the most luminous ULX so far ?

We report the XMM–Newton detection of a moderately bright X–ray source (F0.5−7 ∼ 8.2 × 10 −14 erg cm s) superimposed on the outer arms of the inactive spiral galaxy MCG– 03-34-63 (z=0.0213). It is clearly offset from the nucleus (by about 19”) but well within the D25 ellipse of the galaxy, just along its bar axis. The field has also been observed with the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) enabling u...

Stem Cells So far! Stem Cell Therapy Facts and Principles

Stem cells are cells with the ability to divide for indefinite periods and to give rise to specialized cells.  Stem cell therapy has now been emerged as an extraordinary promise to treat a wide range of diseases and conditions.  However, except blood stem cell transfer by bone marrow transplant which has been used as an standard practice for more than 50 years, nearly all of therapeutic potenti...

So Near and Yet So Far: Harmonic Radar Reveals Reduced Homing Ability of Nosema Infected Honeybees

Pathogens may gain a fitness advantage through manipulation of the behaviour of their hosts. Likewise, host behavioural changes can be a defence mechanism, counteracting the impact of pathogens on host fitness. We apply harmonic radar technology to characterize the impact of an emerging pathogen--Nosema ceranae (Microsporidia)--on honeybee (Apis mellifera) flight and orientation performance in ...
